Oops I hit reply too soon. We have had a summer of equal parts intense and equal parts absolute leisure. I am quite happy to report that it was one of my favorite summers in years. But I've been sitting to color with the kids more when we all need a break. After I came across your study in green/leisure piece, I choose the jar of orange pencils and sat next to the sharpener, and colored a page from one of Joanna Basford's book, using only the orange jar as my color palette. It was so satisfying.
It seems like the past couple of years have been so intense that a slower summer is something everyone could use about now. Coloring is so soothing... That gardening book sounds great also, I'll have to see if I can find that. I'm a total Tasha Tudor fan girl, so that would be something right up my alley.
Wow apparently I'm wordy today but I'm so happy you're growing zinnias. With a hectic start to our gardening season, I had more weeds than not and also forgot to plant my usual zinnias, marigolds, and cosmos for the first time in a while. I'll be sad about it until November. I did plant a cottage/Tasha Tudor inspired garden though, inspired by a book titled something like 'English Gardens for American Gardeners'.
🥲this but especially the last sentence LOL.
